The Pena National Palace is a Romanticist palace in São Pedro de Penaferrim, municipality of Sintra, Portugal. The palace stands on the top of a hill above the town of Sintra, and on a clear day it can be easily seen from Lisbon and much of its metropolitan area. The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal.

I heard on the radio this morning today was the 25th anniversary of the Challenger Disaster. I figured I would throw this up today, not only for the commemoration, but also as a tribute to my fellow artist and friend Jason Kofke, who was very much influenced by this disaster, which he witnessed on television as a young boy.

The base image for this piece was found on google, crushed down to the approximate dimensions of a cut scene from a video game, and then recolored pixel by pixel. The resulting image was then accidentally pasted into a color-indexed PNG file, which resulted in the odd dithering you see. I would like to know how to do this myself, so if anyone (Max Capacity? Do you know?) could tell me that would be great. Otherwise, I’ll just have to keep filtering these through my existing png images.
